Rebuilding an Events App Called Vini — AI Generated

Hello everyone! My name is Jésus Husbands, and I am one of the three Co-Founders of Melior, a software development agency. When I began my 37-week challenge to post one reel a week, my primary goal was to get comfortable in front of the camera. By the seventh reel, I had achieved that goal. Now, it’s time to set a new and ambitious target for the remaining 23 reels: rebuilding an events app called Vini.

Introducing Vini

Vini will be a marketplace for events, where event organizers can advertise and sell tickets, and users can buy tickets to attend their favorite events. Similar to Eventbrite, Dice, and SeatGeek, Vini will come with unique features and touches that set it apart. Here’s a broad scope of what Vini will offer:

  • Browse events available in your area.
  • Search for events by name, location, or type of event.
  • Join waiting lists for popular events.
  • Buy, store, and redeem tickets to events.
  • Plus a secret feature that will be revealed later!

The Plan

I have outlined a detailed plan to develop Vini from scratch to a production-ready app in 22 weeks. Here are the steps I’ll be taking:

  1. Create A Landing Page: The landing page will serve as a way to advertise the product. Anyone interested in being a part of this project or wanting to see and use the final product can join the waiting list. Members of the waiting list might be chosen as beta testers when the app is in its final stages.
  2. Conduct Research on Event Apps: I will review current event apps, analyze their UI & UX, and gather feedback from event organizers. This research will help identify what these apps do well and where they fall short, providing valuable insights for Vini’s development.
  3. Design Vini: I’ll take the best elements from other apps and improve on areas where they fall short. This stage will also involve creating a consistent brand for Vini, ensuring cohesive visual design and messaging throughout development and beyond.
  4. Develop Vini: Using a no-code tool, I will build an MVP (Minimum Viable Product) of Vini. The aim is to move quickly through this stage, as it will take the most time.
  5. Test Vini: This step involves thorough testing to identify and fix bugs, glitches, and optimize the product for the best user experience.
  6. Prepare to Launch Vini: The final step is preparing the app for launch. The goal is to get Vini to a production-ready state where it can be listed on app stores and begin building a business around it.

Building in Public

The purpose of this project is to show the entire process of building an app from scratch to a production-ready state. I will document every step of the journey, sharing the tools, methodologies, and problem-solving techniques I use. This transparency will provide valuable insights for anyone interested in tech, app development, design, or simply curious about how things are done at Melior.

Join the Journey

Throughout this journey, I expect to face ups and downs, but it should be a fun and rewarding experience. I invite you to follow along, give feedback, and interact with me as I rebuild Vini. Your support and engagement will be invaluable.

Next week, I will start by creating a landing page for Vini. If that piques your interest, tune in and join me on this exciting journey!

Setting and achieving goals is all about growth and learning. Rebuilding Vini is a challenging yet fulfilling goal that will push me to improve my skills and share valuable knowledge with the community. Stay tuned for next week’s update, where I’ll outline my plan for building this app in public and achieving this goal.

You can also follow along on Youtube.

See you then!
