Rebuilding Vini: My Journey to Relaunch an Events App in 23 Weeks
Hey everyone! My name is Jésus Husbands, and I am one of the three Co-Founders of Melior, a software development agency. When I embarked on my 37-week challenge to post one reel a week, my main objective was to get comfortable in front of the camera. By the 7th reel, I had achieved that goal. Now, it’s time to set a new and ambitious target for the remaining 23 reels: rebuilding an events app called Vini.
The Journey So Far
Back in 2018/19, I created an events app named Vini. Unfortunately, due to the unforeseen impact of COVID-19, I couldn’t launch it. This app was designed to streamline event management and ticketing, making it easier for users to find, attend, and enjoy events. The idea behind Vini was solid, but the timing just wasn’t right. Now, with your support and feedback from an Instagram poll, I’ve decided to take on the challenge of rebuilding Vini and sharing every step of the journey with you.
Why This Goal?
Setting goals is crucial, but it’s equally important to set ones that you can control. Rather than aiming for a specific number of followers or likes, I’ve chosen a goal that relies on my skills, dedication, and hard work. Building Vini in public will not only hold me accountable but also provide valuable insights and learning opportunities for those following my journey.
What to Expect
Over the next 23 weeks, I’ll be documenting the entire process of rebuilding Vini. Here’s a sneak peek at what you can expect:
- Tool Selection: I’ll be sharing the tools and technologies I use to bring Vini to life. This includes everything from development environments to design software.
- Methodologies: Learn about the methodologies I follow for efficient and effective app development. This includes agile practices, sprint planning, and more.
- Problem Solving: Every project has its challenges. I’ll be transparent about the hurdles I encounter and how I overcome them.

Why Build in Public?
Building in public is a concept that emphasizes transparency and community engagement. By sharing the highs and lows of the development process, I hope to inspire others and provide a real-world example of what it takes to build an app from scratch. This approach also allows for feedback and suggestions, making the final product even better.
