Stop Using Chrome & Safari — Use SigmaOS
I’ve always thought that I should be able to do more with my browser to enable me to be more productive. For the past few months I thought I found the answer when I came across SideKick. Overall I must say that it was a good experience. However once I found SigmaOS. I instantly fell in love with it.
I can’t speak highly enough about SigmaOS. This is literally the browser that I have been waiting for. I found SigmaOS on another blog which you can check out here. Sigma to me was like moving from Windows to Mac. For some it’s like once you go mac you never go back. That’s how I feel about Sigma and other internet browsers.
Like I said before I started using Sigma I used Sidekick which was built on top of Google Chrome and if you take a look at it, the browser allows you to basically pin websites to a sidebar for quick access.
Sigma has taken that concept a step further and created workspaces in their sidebar where you can have multiple tabs inside of a workspace and with the pro version you can have more than 3 workspaces available.
UI & UX
With Sigma you can navigate through and use the browser with just your keyboard. They’ve done their best to create keyboard shortcuts that allow you to get around the browser very quick and easy.
You also have workspaces that you can use however you’d like. I currently have 5 workspaces one for my professional work, one for entertainment, one for reading, one for communication and social media and another I call random which I mainly use to warm up before I start any work for the day. I make sure to always have in their my meditation app, exercise app, journalling and planning app in there and in that order so as soon as I open Sigma i’m in that workspace and go through my warm up routine before I get into any hardwork for the day.
If grouping your tabs in a workspace wasn’t cool enough you can also open “subpages” which is just like “open link in new tab” and when you’re done with all of those links you can just close the main link and their all gone. No more closing link by link.
There’s also split screen and a bunch more features that I’m missing out.
Overall I must give the UI & UX a 10/10
Another thing I love about Sigma is the fact that they have a slack community where I get to speak to the team members especially their software engineer who’s really cool. I normally just send him any bugs that I’m experiencing and within a day or two it’s fixed.
The only thing that I’m waiting for is the addition of chrome extensions. Right now it’s a slow roll out while but they do a great job of keeping the community updated with what’s going on with the product and headway that they are making with certain features.
All in all I love the browser and I think it will be a staple in my tech stack for browsing. Looking forward to the future and where they take the product from here.
Be sure to check out the product.
